Our online payments have increased drastically by using AdComp. Since all aspects were implemented during the same time period, I am unsure which option has attributed to the influx of online payments, I just know that the vast majority of our payments are online. The text message reminders included with a direct link to the citation allowing them to pay may be the most used factor, however it may also be the convenience of having the amount owed predetermined (by the Court’s software) on the website. Prior to AdComp, defendants were able to pay online, however they were required to call in to get the total amount due which left room for errors and discrepancies with payment amounts. Using AdComp has completely eliminated those errors.
Since we began using Citation Smart, our warrants have decreased. The warrants that are actually issued, get paid pretty quickly after issuance as the defendant then receives a text message that informs them of the warrant being issued, along with a convenient link allowing them to take care of their obligations with the Court.
Any integration of Citation Smart was very minimal and not noticed by us. The entirety of it was handled by our IT department and AdComp themselves. In the event a defendant calls and they did not provide their number to the officer at the time of the traffic stop, I can offer to send a text message to them immediately for them to pay or I can offer to forward them to the automated phone number to pay over the phone. This has proven to be very convenient especially for defendants that call while they’re on the road. The text message can be sent to their phone and they can pay the minute they get home without having to locate their citation as the link provides them direct access to their individual citation.
Another option I have is to forward them to our automated phone number which takes payments over the phone. This lessens the time our clerks spend on the phone and prevents us from personally taking over the phone payments.
Since AdComp worked closely with our system programmers, all payments made are updated in our computer system instantaneously and an emailed alert notification is received that the payment was in fact made. Prior to AdComp, when an online payment would come through, a Clerk would have to manually input that payment into the system which allowed for errors or delayed reporting.
The absolute number one standout benefit is the customer service we receive. When I call AdComp with an issue, it is always handled timely and with the utmost importance as if I was their only customer. I recommend AdComp to everyone that would benefit from their services. They have always gone out of their way to accommodate us in any way they can and that’s what I love the most. At AdComp, they realize that no two agencies operate the same and they always try their best to customize their system for each customer as much as they are able to so as to accommodate the needs of that particular agency.
Overall, I really have no complaints about working with AdComp. They truly are stellar to work with, and I feel they pride themselves on always trying to accommodate the needs of their customers.
